John Updike
1923 - 2009
A writer of prodigious talent that extended into many spheres. He was a novelist, short story writer, poet, essayist, and an art and literary critic. He had four studies in his house in which to write. Imagine the enormous talent that would necessitate let alone use four studies.
After the loss of David Foster Wallace and now Updike, the writing world is a little lighter in the genius department.
